ABOUT

.

There are some 860 private homes on Atlantic Beach Estate, grouped into various villages and situated around the 18-hole Atlantic Beach Golf Course. In addition to the Clubhouse and the various recreational facilities at the Leisure Centre, there is also a 4 star luxury Lodge on the Estate.

.

Careful attention to detail ensures that everything at Atlantic Beach fits with the philosophy of relaxed, comfortable coastal living. All ancillary buildings have been designed in keeping with the overall architectural style. Even the cobbles and kerbstones have been specifically designed to blend unobtrusively with the fynbos-covered dunes.

.

All elements of the Estate were built with a serious commitment to the preservation of the indigenous fauna and flora. This has resulted in an abundance of wild animals remaining on and around the Estate, including springbok, tortoises, chameleons, snakes, rooikat, duiker, porcupine, grey mongoose and a large variety of birds including barn owls. The Estate also has a rich abundance of fynbos species, and the Home Owners’ Association has an on going programme to retain and re-instate this natural resource.

.

Street lighting is provided by strategically placed bollard lights in place of obtrusive overhead lighting. A secure perimeter fence and controlled access points with 24 hour patrols provide the security of the Estate.

.

The Estate is favoured with year-round sunshine and wonderful conditions for outdoor living. The West Coast's climate promises long, sun-drenched summer days - freshened by wind from the sea - and lush green winters. Springtime brings cascades of indigenous flora fed by cool ocean mists.

.

The West Coast is warmer and drier than Cape Town, with summer temperatures ranging from pleasant lows of 15°C to highs of 30°C. Daytime winter temperatures seldom fall below 10ºC. The average monthly rainfall in the winter months is 44 mm - roughly half as much as Cape Town.
